Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is the process that plants, algae and cyanobacteria use to turn light energy into chemical energy.
That energy is stored in sugars, which the organism later uses to grow and stay alive. Along the way, photosynthesis releases oxygen — a by-product that changed the planet.
